Broadway Theatre Review by James Harris

*** The ELO Encounter Review *** By James Harris The Broadway Theatre, in Barking on Fri 29 Sep 2017 was the setting for another captivating gig by the ELO Encounter. The audience were kept on their toes with the impressive stage lights and back projection display with the vast change of songs never knowing what was coming next. The ELO Encounter’s ability to faithfully reproduce the various songs with accuracy accompanied by the thunderous drums of Simon Dove and the bass of Simon Rownes sets the basic powerhouse to the show. The vocals and keyboards of Jack Rownes who has a ... Read more

Roadhouse Review by KJS

THE ELO ENCOUNTER @ BIRMINGHAM 01/09/17 Having literally “Blown Away” those in attendance at their Birmingham debut in March, The ELO Encounter made their much anticipated if not rapid return to The Roadhouse last night (Saturday 1st September) – just a stones throw from Shard End (relatively speaking) – and proceeded to once again entertain and enrapture another packed house of Brummies (and the odd Wulfrunian) with an extensive set ELO classics. The ELO Encounter have the ability to reproduce the various phases of ELO on stage with apparent ease and this performance proved it. Whether it be the ace ... Read more

Caught Live: The ELO Encounter Sat March 4th 2017 The Braintree Arts Centre was the setting for last nights packed out gig with The ELO Encounter. There was very little time for dialogue between songs but it brought the house down when occasionally interspersed from Martin Donald. Jasmine provided the outstanding vocals to Xanadu, Nightrider was a spectacular rendition along with Here Is The News not usually covered by tribute bands.
